Lav Orp Roos, Who's the Best Looking?

Quote:
They are called project birds and only on F1s or 2s so far for most people. PROJECT nothing near the standard of Orp!

I personally like number 1 (325) he looks to be much broader in his back than the others.

I don't see no gypsy face on any of the lavender birds pictured

.

of course his comb is not very pretty but depending on the hens you use to work on this project, that will give some good offspring to work with..

heres what gypsy face looks like

these are some of my araucana that i thought had gypsy face, the one on the right and left had it as young hens but have both gone to red once mature.

Isn't that what NYREDS said? The question was which one do you prefer? Unless I didn't read something no one said they weren't projects? He said that two was closest to type, wouldn't that be what you would be working towards? What am I missing?

Yes Sara, That's exactly what he said. I wasn't disagreeing with him, I was quoting him I thought!!

For those who are not familiar with the project I think it is very important to stress this is a project under a lot of scrutiny and development.

I have to say it didn't feel like agreement when I read it.

Number one is the least leggy, hard to say how big he is, but he appears to be broader chest.
I like number two's type the best. More leggy. Which means breed to a very fluffy lowrider type of hen.
I have been told by a top notch Exhibition breeder, to bread the widest headed and broadest chested birds to each other. Then work on the rest.
IF these birds are taken to a TOP NOTCH B/B/S Orp hens within one to two generations you will see results. And remember even the best Exhibition breeders only hit a homerun one in thirty to forty times. I expect IF anyone in this project uses a HIGH Quality Black hen they will make their project go forward rapidly.

That's why it's the internet nothing is as it seems I suppose. It was meant as yes they don't look anything like a standard of Orp as yet! Project! Tho some of us are farther along than others. No more quotes from me!
