Lavender Ameraucana Breeders .... UNITE

Pics
I gave them to someone I work with who has more room for them. I have a pic of them when they were a few days old sitting all together. Let me know what you think, Thanks

Awwww! Lil fat babies!!!!!

Do you have pics of their feet? Was the split solid black or have a white belly?
Some people think that the solid black chicks carry different genes that will make them better suited for lav projects.

We're in lockdown...fingers and toes crossed!!!

I used some of that shelf liner stuff on the bottom of the rack. Thought that would make cleanup easier.

Hubby Eggtopsied two tonight...one was totally scrambled. :/ The other, I screamed STOP!!! When he barely poked a hole through the inner membrane to crack the egg open...I saw dark gray wet fuzz/feathers. Now I'm wondering what to do with it...no movement, but looked developed enough...the air cell was so wobbled and it looked like there was a red ring...that's why I pulled it tonight. Should we wrap lightly with wet paper towel and put it back in the bator and hope for the best? Or should we just toss it?? Don't want to toss any that could have a shot.

Was it bleeding? If not i would think it was dead. It cant hurt to leave. Put a small peice of a bandaid on it so it will not dry out too much.

Candle it from the bottom too. It should be mostly full. If it is not 80% full it did not develop.

I never eggtopsy..... i just dont want to make a mistake. If in doubt....it goes into lockdown.....just me. Good luck.

Sooo, the total for my hatch Tuesday/Wednesday is 7 Ameraucanas (5 Lavs, 2 splits) and 1 BLRW. As requested, here are some fluffy butt pictures!

(Not an Ameraucana) Hahaha....

My solo BLRW, my son wants to name her Alone-a......

Great pics! I love this time of year- lots of fuzzy little ones.

I am having a hard time with dead in shell. Not sure what I am doing wrong, or if its the incubators. Eggs I ship out have better hatch rates. I am about to set my last set of Orpingtons, really hope I don't lose too many. Its like they are fully developed and full of liquid. I am dry incubating til the last 2 1/2 days. Ugh!
