We just hatched our first Lav chick Saturday. I am now an official Lavender Ameraucana Breeder! I'm trying to take in all the info from this thread (and read first before asking questions) but still have a long way to go. What an awesome thread!

is that the picture or are there legs yellow?

The mother does free range a few hours a day in the evening. Next to the Buff Orpington they don't look so yellow.

That first pic of the chick looking up at you...that's just how they are!

And I do believe they are adorable chicks, but if you want a sugary sweet bunch of chicks, you have to hatch some salmon faverolles.

Wow! I guess I had never seen the Faverolles. They are gorgeous. The Roo is beautiful. That would be awesome project for the future, right now my pens are full.

first congrats on your hatch... Can't wait till my group gets laying....

aren't all our pens full... somehow, someway, we all figure out how to fit in one more group....
I currently have 2 pens that do not fit my "goals" (rainbow egg basket) so I am currently at my limit on breeds right now... mind you,,, there always seems to be room to "try out" in the layer coop! That is why I have Barred rocks in the bator ....
