Lavender Ameraucana Breeders .... UNITE

Pics
I'm afraid I have some bad news for you Lavender Ameraucana breeders. According to Ameraucana "experts" in another thread here if they're not varieties admitted to the Standard they're Easter Eggers not Ameraucanas. Sorry I had to be the one to break the bad news.

Yes we are aware.FYI you must develope the breed or variety before it can be accepted into the standard. Most prefer the term projects for new varities. This in effect says we are serious about getting them into the standard or as in existing varieties a improvement project. This to me means a goal is involved.None of us want the argument again.I have been with the breed since before we chose the name and before they were in the standard.A lot of serious work by many serious breeders got the job done.Hope this was informative.

Did you read my signature line? I'm an APA Judge & I expect I'm at least as familiar with the process of admitting new breeds/varieties as you are. On the other thread I mentioned I pointed this process out to the "experts" to no avail, they still insisted anything not now in the Standard is an Easter Egger. I even tried the "project" label. That too was rejected.
I thought the tongue-in cheek nature of my comment here was apparent. Chose an emoticron to illustrate this. It was understood by some but perhaps humor isn't something you get.

I dont think Jerry was trying to show you up. Maybe he did not read your signature or know you where joking. after all you did not get my tongue and cheek statement on that very thread you spoke of when I was joking. You said I was wrong and I was kidding as well.
So let's all get along.

I am sure Jerrry wasn't meaning any harm. It is just that lots of breeders have put lots of time into this project and its not something any of us take lightly. The time and sweat and determination that especially Jerry has put into Ameraucanas as a breed is honorable. I saw the emoticon but wasn't sure how to take that statement either. I don't think any of us want the pot to be stirred, I prefer Lavender Ameraucana Project as well
