Lavender Ameraucana do exist I have 4 they tend to be a grayish color if you don't know what you are looking at during the cooler months their feathers are better to look at. The biggest downfall to lavender Ameraucana is they genetically have weak feathers I feed mine A mix of organic feather fixer and egg layer feed it helps for me. Also if you want to breed A black rooster with lavender hens works well I think it works better than lavender roo to lavender hen. Of course you will get black chicks and lavender chicks. The best person I know of to answer Ameraucana questions is Paul Smith in Gainesville TX he is posted on the Ameraucana breeders websiteI went to the Ameraucana.org site and looked at the different colors and Lavender wasn't listed.
Did my daughter get taken when she bought Lavendar Ameraucana eggs? I think she only bought four or six eggs; all but one hen (blue) and one roo (two tone blue/black and gorgeous).
We've been saving eggs up from the one pair and so far, have six "teenagers" almost six weeks old and two three week olds. Along with those, four hatched today and we may get four more tomorrow.
We've gotten some interesting colors, with one very black one, several blues and some off whites, but nothing I would call lavender!
So, I'm back to my original question . . . are there really Lavender Ameraucanas? Every egg we've gotten from our hen is a very pretty blue.
Doesn't matter how many times I see this it still never really makes sense so many variations lol I'm just A red neck I guessLavender/self-blue is a totally different gene from blue/black/splash. With lavender genetics, you will either get lavender or black -- no lavender splash can happen. They either look black, and can be carrying the lavender gene or not, but they are still visually black. Or they have both lavender genes and have full lavender feathering. If you are getting splash, then it is likely blue/black/splash genetics, not lavender/self-blue.

I have a couple of lavender? splashes that are just beautiful! If I could get a whole flock of those, I'd be real happy.
I'm not sure yet, but in the last six I hatched (actually the incubator did it) I think there are three lavenders. If so, and they all are hens, I will need a nice lavender roo to improve the blood line.
And most likely I will have some roos to rehome too.![]()
