I have a Lavender Orpington rooster and Coronation Sussex hens. Does anyone have any idea what the offspring will be.

The F1 (first generation chicks) should be solid lavender.

Details:
I can't find any record of the genetics behind the Coronation Sussex. Usually, it seems, they are based on Lavender, but some are based on blue. We'll assume Lavender, because that's more common. (lav/lav)

There are only two E-locus (pattern genes) on which the coronation sussex could be based. Duckwing (e+/e+) or Wheaten (E^Wh/E^Wh) It's probably duckwing, but this isn't really relevant for the first crossing anyway.

They're also columbian (that's the markings around the neck. (Co/Co))

So (e+/e+), (lav/lav), (Co/Co)
Your Lavender bird, on the other hand, is solid black patterned (E/E), lavender (lav/lav), and not columbian (co/co)

Chicks inherit one copy of each gene from each parent. So they'll inherit one e+ and one E. One lav and one lav. One Co and one co.

The capital letters signify dominant genes. So (E/e+) means that the chicks will be solid black. From previous crossings, I can predict that there may be some leakage, especially on the shoulders of the roosters. Possibly also in the chests.

(lav/lav) is a dilution of black to lavender. So instead of solid black, the chicks will be solid lavender.

(Co/co) means that the chicks will have black markings on their tails and necks. But again, the black's been diluted to lavender, so it'll be lavender on a lavender background. You'll see nothing.
