I owned lavender d’Anvers for a spell, though I got rid of them because I did not enjoy the feather shredding, which was present even in those that had been bred out of a male that was black split for lavender. However, I still own a lavender blue hen Luna, as well as a lavender blue daughter of hers.
Luna is determined to express blue because she produced some blue offspring, and she has dark grey feather shafts and a lighter color than the others.
Both these lavender blues have good feather quality, unlike the regular lavenders. A recent post had me thinking: does a dilution like blue reduce the effects of feather shredding? Why are my lavender blues soft feathered?
(Sorry that it’s confusing. When I say lavender blue I mean EElavlavBlbl and when I say lavender I mean EE lavlavBlBl)
