lavender/lavender salmon faverolles project

If they are out there somewhere they would be great then I don't have to deal with vulture hocks.

So I am going to try and work on the lavender faverolles project and lavender salmon faverolles project. What breed should I use? I have D'uccles growing out I was also thinking about bringing a cochin into the mix to keep the chunk and heft of the faverolles. Faverolles have 5 toes, beards, medium foot feathering, and a trapazoidal body shape. What do you guys think? I need to breed splits and then breed the splits back or breed splits to more splits. I have followed the orpington project. What do you think I should do D'uccles or cochins or something else. I am looking to buy an older roo so I can get underway instead of waiting 6+ months.

I am also investigating this but there are different base color genes with D'uccles vs black or salmon favorelles. You have partridge/brown, black and wheaten, respectively. D'uccle also have the columbian gene which can be tough to eradicate if you're trying to get pure lavender. Personally, I would rather see the Lavender Wheaten both for the differentiation in males vs females and because the different color pattern would be pretty. If you are shooting for a monocolor lavender, I think black favorelles over lavender cochin might be your best bet. The leg color, comb, etc would be more correct. But you could always start with a D'uccle split and go from there. Black will cover the gold/brown, you just might have more variation on your second cross.
