Lavender olive egger ?

We just hatched two today! From my lavender olive eggers and look what color they are ! Totally dark with cream light belly’s kiwi is the silky broody hen her egg is going to be hatched as well soon but I am just really curious why these ones are so dark. Any idea?

They look dark because they will be black.

Lavender is a recessive gene, meaning you need 2 lavender genes to exhibit lavender in the feathering. Somebody somewhere didn't have a lavender gene.

Who did you breed your lavender too?

I will know for sure tomorrow i suppose since we have 6 in total under our kiwi girl. The white egg knowingly is kiwis. We thought these were lavender with lavender but they may both be sugars babies…… shes the speckled one below …..which is totally strange because we thought we only put one of hers in there. The other three brown colored eggs will hopefully hatch tomorrow and if they are this color than I dono! Here is a pic of our lavender girls. Of which we thought there was 4 of in the batch……

The black ones are sugars and she is barred. The other one is lavender with olive egg lavender ROO and the little tiny cute gray one is our white silky broody hen with the olive egger RoO

Hey it ended up being out barred hen sugars babies ! Our lavenders bread true we got three of them lol !
