Final count on this hatch:

Big Bear's - 7 Lav and 11 blacks (1 egg did not hatch)
Lucas - 3 Lav and 3 Black
and 4 silkie chicks

Next hatch is Xmas Eve.

So Now is it my understanding that you breed the lavender to lavender and get 100% Lav.?

That's right Bama. I figure by late spring to early summer we'll have straight lavender breeding pens going which is so exciting.

We're up to 20 lavenders total. 10 from the first 2 hatches and now 10 more. Woot! I figure at least half will be roos, which is fine and will give us plenty to select through. And we have more weekly hatches coming.

Oh wow Jody! I have been so busy that I haven't been online in ages. CONGRATS!!! And what a high percentage of lavs, too!! I will definitely take you up on your offer for lav. eggs, but would like to wait till February, if that's okay with you. Woohoo!!!!
