Lavender Orpington at 5 weeks male or female?

It may be too early, but I'm going to guess cockerel. Here's my 2 at 8ish weeks (if the breeder told me correctly), they're about 10 now and for sure hens:

Yours are beautiful Mine was suppose to be vent sexed, so maybe there is still hope Mine is so friendly and likes to sit on me

Thank you! I went to get those straight run black australorp 4 weekers (3 of which are cockerels, grr) but those two were so beautiful they had to come home with me too! I had my doubts about the bigger one for a while, but she just matured faster or was a little older. The breeder I bought mine from said that the ones she's had that mature faster give her the most eggs. Give that one a bit longer!

Looks like a pullet to me. I have buff orpingtons, and at that age the cockeral has a much brighter red comb.

I'm on the fence about this - seems like a lot of comb for such a young chick BUT, it's just pink not red. Would you please post new photos at 8 weeks of age?

What age do they start to turn red? From the pictures I have seen of Lavender Orpingtons, seems like the males and females both have super red combs and wattles, but I do think the comb is sort of big.
