Lavender orpington gender

They are all different. I got them from a breeder. She told me all but one were girls but one was iffy. But they all have such big combs I can't tell (I'm new to chickens)

I couple of my lavender orpingtons had combs that looked like that at that age and they turned out to be pullets. I also ended up with a rooster though...I would wait a few more weeks to be able to tell. I can show you pictures if you would like.

In picture number 3 both birds pictured are boys and I think I see several more boys in the other pictures too. I think they’re mostly boys. :( combs should not be that huge or that red at 5 weeks old. Comb size isn’t always an indicator but coupled with the redness of them and the very thick legs and stance I think they are mostly boys but I would wait to be sure. You can usually tell for sure by about 8-12 weeks but Orpingtons can be hard to sex so it might be longer. Number one is for sure a girl and you might have one other girl but I think mostly boys :(

If you have pictures I would love to see!

I think #3 is a boy, but the rest could be females. I raise Lavender Orpingtons and quite often the girls look just like that. Wait until they're 8 weeks and repost
