I've got a beautiful Lavender Orpington cockerel (well, two actually but only one has started crowing) that I'd like to re-home in the very near future. It just started crowing this week. I picked up the rooster as a baby chick from Eugene Backyard Farmer (Eugene, OR) because the lavender orpington's proved very hard to find in the northwest.
This particular bird is very sweet. He hasn't quite figured out how to be picked up without flapping crazily, but once he's up he'll sit right in your lap and close his eyes. He's been raised on organic feed and plenty of mealworms. He's still currently on chick-hen intermediate feed. He lives in harmony with two cats, two dogs and a flock of chickens (including another cockerel.)
He is flea/lice/tick free. Delivery is a possibility if close-by. I'd like to save this beautiful bird from the freezer!
