Lavender Orpington vs Blue Orpington

Red genetics doesn't create the lavender color.
Lavender birds shouldn't have red genetics and if they do and it shows it would show as a diluted red not lavender.

Well recessive dilute red factor is what dealing with. Thats what changed the genetics from blue/black to a lavender, blue/red. Thats what also makes the lavender splash have pink combs and pink eggs. The blue dont have pink eggs.

Not sure where youre getting your info from but I can't agree with any of that.
But we all get to have an opinion so run with that one if you want.

My lavender splash hens have pink combs and lay pink eggs. Lavender carries red genetics which create the lavender color.

Lavender does not make a splash. Splash is from Blue varieties not Lavender.

Can you or an experienced person Look at a chicken and figure out if it is Blue or Lavender, or does one need to know it's parents to label it?

Blue variety should be laced. Note the photo presented of blue and lavender birds first page. The Blue has lacing as it should. Lavender does not have any lacing and is pale color. Of course blue that is too light can look a lot like lavender but should still have some lacing. Poor quality Blues have all but lost the lace. Typically it's easy to tell blue from lavender though.

Attempt at clarity may muddy the water but here goes-

Lavender is recessive and only expresses if two copies are present in bird. The blue gene stacks as in one copy dilutes black to blue and two copies of the gene dilute black to splash. It stacks in potency. No copy= black, one= blue and two = splash.

As stated blue is a dilute gene that dilutes black and other diluted black colors.
Lavender is a dilute genes but dilutes everything. If you add blue to a gold duckwing it doesn't effect the gold tones but if you add lavender it dilutes the whole pattern.
Neither gene dilutes egg shell color.
The above birds look splash to me. I don't seen the lavender gene present.
