I have 2 lavender Orpingtons (1 pullet named Spiderman, 1 cockerel named Amber) 9 weeks old and 1 buff orpington pullet named Tails 7 weeks old.
I always wanted to see the cross between a lav orpington x buff orpington. I have googled endlessly but Google doesnt always provide accurate photos of what you're looking for. Someone said they can look like Isabel's but I haven't come across anyone with that mix.
My 2 lavender Orpingtons were $14.99 each at a local farmer feed store. My buff was $4.99.
I noticed they feathered out differently, too. My buff was fully winged out by 2 weeks but my lavs didnt start until close to 4 weeks so I was convinced they were both roos but by 6 weeks, Amber's comb and waddle started turning bright pink and growing very fast. Both their feathers grew in really messy. I thought something was wrong but after research it's normal due to the quality of feathers of the lavender orpington. Amber crowed for the first time the other day!
Temperament wise, they're skittish for the most part. I had hoped to get friendly Orpingtons but they only like me when it's bedtime ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They're definitely beautiful nonetheless.
