lavender splash? genetic gurus please...

I knew something didn't look quite right with what I had typed. Thanks for correcting me!

All offspring will be blue (from splash mama), and half will be lavender and half split to lav.

Genetically written, that is
50% Bl/bl+ lav/lav (lavender blue or blue lavender, however you wish to say it)
50% Bl/bl+ Lav+/lav (blue split to lav)

Thank you. So even though the splash hen is a split/lav and the cock is pure lav, you still won't get any pure lav chicks?

Edited to say...nevermind...I wasn't reading your answer correctly, Sonoran.

Thanks, but I DEFINITELY wasn't planning on using anything but black with my lavs. I just noticed that lavender splash term is getting thrown about lately but if someone didn't know it sounds like the "splash" on the bird is actually lavender and not blue. I didn't think this possible and wanted to make sure. I don't need more confusion in my breeding program

my kids confuse me enough, gotta keep the birds obvious

. So, to clarify, if someone says they have lav splash it is just a splash that is split to lav? I have a headache today so I need to beat things in a bit harder...

A lav splash is a bird that is both splash and lavender.

So the look would be that same as "normal" splash, but the blue replaced by lav? Is that correct?

Lavender breeds true; blue breeds predictably.

lavender X not-lavender = 100% split for lav
not-blue X splash = 100% blue
not-blue X blue = 50% blue, 50% not blue

Breed your lavender to your blue and select the not-blue pullets to breed back to the father--this will get rid of the " blue" issue.

lavender X split for lav = 50% lavender, 50% split for lavender

ok, that is my point. I didn't think it was possible with lavender. I thought lavender was just that, lavender......and only lavender?

No, lavender splash is NOT splash split to lav; it is lavender AND splash.
