lavender splash? genetic gurus please...

So, you can not breed a split lav splash to a Lav Roo and get Lavender offspring, right? Or you can, but you can not tell which one is a Lavender and which one is just a muddy splash.
 
I think that is true, however, they say that you can not tell the difference between the true lavenders and the others

But, if you breed them back to Lavender long enough, I would think they would be true lavenders.
