We need a smiley with someone strangling and shaking the poor innocent bystander--

I do remember tadkerson mentioning one way to determine if a bird is a true lavender. Look at the feather shafts on the wings and tail. The top of the shaft will be light and the underside is dark. In a blue or splash bird they are the same.

I have plenty of time, and I think it'll be worth it in the long run. My splash and blue girls are really pretty and I think they will add tons of fluff and crest.

Okay, here are some pics.

A splash and one I'm fairly sure is lavender splash.

Two splashes on the left, lavender splash in the center and pure lavender on the right.

Lavender and lavender splash youngsters and a recent picture.

And two splashes on the right and a lavender splash in the center. There is just a subtle difference in the background color, and I'm not sure it's evident in this picture.

One of these days we'll get a better camera (as in one that's less than 10 years old) that hopefully will take better pics!

In the last picture there really is a subtle difference between the lav splash and splash. It's not easy to see even when you have the birds in front of you.
