Law School Graduates Sue Law School

Of course they don't do it on their own. They have to have someone to screw over. :)

Seriously, I know lawyers provide valuable services to our society. But there are some crooked lawyers out there, and there are too many lawyers in the United States.

I know this is really going to be hard for some to comprehend, but behind every lawyer there is someone just like you paying his bills at $350.00
per hour. Lawyers do not just do it on their own.

True. This was not a slam against lawyers at all... just a fact, unless the common fella wants to stand in court by himself against a trained lawyer for the other side. Most need to hire a lawyer to protect him from the other guy's lawyer.

Yes, Bullitt, there may, in fact, be too many lawyers. However, when something horrible happens to you or your family and you are at the mercy of the law and the court system I hope you are man enough to just accept it and not cry to one of those non-productive lawyers to attempt to save your hide. Lawyers are great targets for ridicule until you really need one...and don't worry, at sometime in your life you are going to need one.

The whole court system is designed to do one thing. Enrich the lawyer class. The public defender, who jumps up in front of the judge, on your behalf, for thirty seconds, puts $250 public money in his pocket and buy a drink for the judge, that evening....Who's kidding who?

Royd, as usual, you are correct; and thank God that only you and a few others know the real truth about our Court system and the lawyers and judges who run it for the right to make themselves rich. Very few people (maybe just you and two others) know that the Public Defender's are also getting rich off the system. The one thing that you are mistaken about is that when I stood up for those thirty seconds I never got $250.00 as my minimum fee was $350.00 per hour or any part thereof. Fleeced those suckers and retired rich at 55. Thanks God for the suckers who continued to be anxious to pay my fees.

Yes, I've known both good and bad lawyers, like everyone else. And of course plenty of people who think you "just need to get a lawyer" for any problem - kind of like the ones who think you "just need to get a gun" for other problems - as if a lawyer or a gun is a magic wand that doesn't require any experience or judgment.

Most cases could be settled amicably if people were a little more patient and forgiving.

I am self employed and have sued and been counter- sued trying to collect a debt (not owed by me). The lawyers always come out on top. Of those times I was successful once the others cost me money. I have collected more unpaid debt by simply being willing to take what they offer and walk away from the rest. When we get greedy and do something stupid like say to ourselves "it is mine he owes it to me" is when we need lawyers. I most likely will never sue anyone unless it is for a large sum of money and the person I am suing has the ability to pay me. First rule of suing someone make sure they have the money or a way to collect.

My brother is a lawyer (unemployed). He says "As an unemployed lawyer I am making the world a better place, every day."

This isn't about Lawyers It is about how schools legally market themselves. Especially in this Limited job market education is being listed as the solution - Occuaptional training Programs -Vocational Technical education everyone is being sent to school - Every time I see a person in a Medical billing program here I cringe and a few other programs - There aren't the walk out of school jobs that are listed in these numbers they give and if there were the students from the last graduating semester would have them - They graduate 7 to 10,000 thousand in debt way higher for Lawyers - Thye have given a massive part of their life to complete a program and they walk out only to find all the numbers they were given on jobs do not exsist --- I know a guy with Night Blindness - fear of driving in snow or rain who got a CDL - Can ya see a problem with that lol Phlebotomy Programs -Phlebotomy use to be the training ground for Nurses -Very few places use straight blood draw teams and if they do they work Part-time even the split off Specimen Processing Jobs have been cut to bare bones - The classes that work carry the ones that don't ---Truth in Educational Marketing should be required that it is study a major at your own risk and investigate before you register and take out student loans --

You opened a can of worms here... We have a ton of people getting educated at the expense of taxpayers in fields like liberal arts, psychology and the like to only apply to government programs and agencies like DHHS and others like publicschools when foriegn citizens come here and and get engineering degrees and other types of degrees only to have 6 digit incomes awaiting them upon graduation.

Schooling is big business when the government funds it as with any business when government funds it you get alot of applications.

Soon the government will have a program for over-educated people to re-train them for a suitable job.
