Lawn Clippings in Chicken Run?

I have 6 girlies and this is my first time raising chickens. I have learned so much from this site, but I can't find any forums regarding this

...I mow my yard once a week and I have been emptying the mower bag of grass clippings into my chicken run. I sprinkle some DE around and rake it all out to cover the floor of the run. Sort of a source of bedding/fly/poop control. My girls don't really eat too much of it, but enjoy kicking it around and finding bugs. Is this process okay? Any health concerns? The run is 6x12... Thank You.

I do that all the time.
The only health concern is if you use chemical fertilizer, herbicide, pesticide, fungicide. In that case it's a bad idea.

I do it. They eat most of it, but really seem to like digging thru for lil bugs.
