Lawn fertilizer and backyard chickens

My choice would be not to fertilize at all, but not sure I can convince hubby- he's a big "lawn guy." He usually uses something like Scotts.
I will mention to him the organic options, but will resort to locking them up for awhile if need be.

I completely agree catdaddy. I can't keep my heelers from eating the poop. It is so disgusting but I guess they are getting something out of it.

I don't fertilize my yard, it just makes the grass grow faster and need more mowing.

Any fertilizer with weed killer added has no place in the same yard as your chickens. Mary
