Lawn service applied pre-emergent without asking me

We have pre-emergent fertilizer put on twice a year. I was not here when they showed up and forgot to mention the chickens to them before they came out (local company). They never spray anything on my garden and when I went to check the coop area, there were no traces of the fertilizer near their run/coop. The chickens were new to our yard in the late fall after the fall application. Hopefully your crew knows better than to spray it in certain areas. Ours waas sprayed about a week and a half ago. We have gotten some rain since then, but not a lot. It has disappeared as far as the tiny pebbles go, so none of the birds would be eating it at this point if they were out in the main yard.

Definitely follow up with the company on the product. One common pre-emergent weed suppressor is just corn gluten meal and is safe for pets/animals to eat. However, there are several other possible options that are not so safe.
