im going to mix this with wheat so will it be ok for roos or will it still harm them

It will be ok to feed them that. I feed my roos layena from purina as well.

You don't have to mix it, feeding it to roosters is fine.

If you mix any thing "treat-like" with their layer feed, they usually pick thru it sending the layer feed to the ground and eating the treat, wasting a lot of food.

I agree. Don't mix it. Layena is only 16% protein so feed it as-is and save the wheat for a treat once a day. About half a handful per bird.

well thats the thing i can get the wheat for free from my uncle (grew a cilo full) so that would cut my costs in half

Well, if you're set on using the wheat (and your hens will be eating it), then you might research, here or elsewhere, what else would need to be added to insure that your hens will be getting enough protein, because protein is what goes into egg making. Some folks mix their own feed, but insure that the grain/supplement ratios are currect to insure good health.
