Layer feed for meat birds...

I know how it sounds but...

Back in May, I bought 5 bags of layer feed for the 'future' for my girls, but I have decided to keep a couple of roosters....and my yet to lay 'laying' birds are really picky eaters and I have since decided I should probably go with a grower, or all flock as some of you call it....even a chick starter feed. With oyster shells on the side.

Can I feed the Cornish x the layer feed for the remaining 2-3 weeks of their life? I opened a bag today and it's 3/4 of the way gone....they don't seem to mind it and I have been watering most of it down into a mash.

I fed my whole flock lay mash before I learned it's not good for a rooster. How bad can it be for just a short time?
