Layer Feed & Oyster Shell

It seems that around 17 or 18 weeks some hens begin to lay eggs and this is so exciting! How soon to begin giving Layer Feed and Oyster Shells? Ours are only 13 weeks, but that is just around the corner. Thanks, Sarah
 
I was told by a long time chicken owner on these boards that the pullets often show some interest in the oyster shells when they are getting ready to start laying. Here in a few more weeks you may want to set some out for them. Once everyone has begun laying you can switch over to layer feed if you want.
 
layena of purina already has oyster shell after 4 moths of age is good to provide this pellet or crumbles depending on what they like
