Layer feed

Hey y'all I was just wondering when I can start giving my girls layer feed they are about four weeks away from my projected laying date can I start giving layer feed now even though it's a bit early

You should start giving them layer feed when they lay their first egg. Your girls are way too young!

When I got my 2-3mo olds, I already had a year and a half old that was eating adult food. And I just threw them into the run with her, and put food down for both, adult and layer feed. I had no way to control their eating habits, but do notice that none of them never really ate the layer feed and always just went right in for the adult food. Is this normal? Or should I have separated them better.
