Layer Mash?

I bought a bag of layer mash thinking it would just be more crumbly crumble but I was wrong. Does anyone know just what mash is and is it just as healthy for them as pellets?

Crumbles are made from pellets which in turn is made from mash.

In other words all three forms can be the very same feed if it's made by the same mill.

I've used all three and they all work. It's mostly a matter of getting the feeders adjusted properly and the birds becoming accustomed to it.

Ok, thanks. What threw me off was it looked alot like mashed up scratch.
