layer pellets or layer crumble

Nutritionally here is no difference. The way they make them they first grind up all of the ingredients and call that mash. If they want pellets they add water and mix that to make a paste, then extrude that through a dye where they are flash dried. To make crumble they slightly crush the pellets. So nutritionally they are exactly the same, it’s just the form that is different.

The main reason for the different forms in Layer is that different automatic feeding equipment is made to handle specific forms of the feed. Since you probably don’t use automatic equipment to feed your chickens that probably doesn’t matter to you. I agree with the others, you usually get less waste with the pellets.

Another reason for different forms is that baby chicks can’t handle the pellets and need feed in smaller pieces, but since you are talking about Layer, baby chicks shouldn’t be eating it anyway.
