Did you recently switch to pellets? Sometimes they get fussy with new types of food. I switched to pellets and they knocked it all around the coop at first. Now they like it and get fussy with anything else.

Yes, if you recently switched to layer pellets, you may want to get some crumbles and mix in with the pellets. I would fill the bin with a layer of pellets, then a layer of crumbles, pellets, crumbles, etc. After a while, when I was almost out of the crumbles, I would put more pellets in to where they didn't notice the crumbles anymore and will eat the pellets with no problem.
