laying a soft egg, but it was "stuck"

My hen, Lotty, was looking a bit blue yesterday afternoon, I went over to her and she let me touch her (she NEVER lets me do that).

I patted her on the chest to see how her crop felt, it was okay, then I put my hand down and felt down near her vent, and all of a sudden a soft shelled egg popped out!
I think it must have not been passing through her, and the little pressure I put on her made it come through.
She PROMPTLY perked up! Turned around and started eating it.
