My SLW hen Go-Go went broody and then directly afterward started molting. She laid an egg today! She started losing feathers about two weeks ago. Is that possible or does my chicken have a disease or something?!

On the plus side, my little cousin wanted to watch one lay an egg and that one did!

Mine lay a few eggs when molting, but very few, and probably some lay none at all while molting. I suspect if she laid while broody, she is not really broody. They do go sort of half broody. Or, she is collecting a clutch of eggs to sit on.

Mine have always laid all the way through molting.
