Laying at 11 weeks old?

The brown egg in the middle is one of the regular eggs, the other 2 are ones I have gotten out of my adolescent pen as I call it. Got another one today and cracked it open out of curiosity, perfectly formed yolk inside, even fertilized.

How can you tell it is fertilized? That brown egg is huge!

The brown egg is actual a normal size egg, it just looks huge compared to how tiny the other ones are. I can tell it was fertilized because it had anperf ectopic bullseye in the yolk.

I was actually looking at it in comparison to the hand, but maybe it is a smaller hand or just the angle it was taken. I didn't know that about fertilized eggs.

My hands are really small lol my 6 year old has hands almost as big as mine. All eggs have a white spot on the yolk, but when they are fertilized that white spot looks like a perfect bullseye, its actually pretty neat .

Always good to put a quarter or dollar bill in an egg pic for scale.
What breed pullets are these that are laying at 11(!?) weeks?

I didn't even think about that, thank you . They are barnyard mutts, I think the one that has started laying already might be a Rhode island red/black australorp, but I'm not sure.

Mine are mutts too. One father is a Buff Orpington, the other is an Americana. Its quite obvious which roo fathered which chick! The mothers are either Black Sex Link, Sussex, or Barred Rocks. The chicks are so interesting looking! The Orps are very fluffy with feathered legs.

Another tiny egg today. This time laid from the perch landing in the poop gutter intact at least. I'm pretty sure its one of the youngsters now. I've narrowed it down to 3 that were roosting in that area overnight. I guess I can't call them the chicks anymore!

Well I really doubt that an 11 week old chicken laid an egg... Thats way too young for a chicken

I have 4 almost 12 week old chickens this is my second batch of chickens they are all the same age as from hatched in late March. 2 of them are laying eggs already.
