Are my laying boxes good size? If not what should I do to them?

size depends on the type of chickens you have....but bigger is better than to small....I usually make them at least 12x12 and 16 inches high....no smaller....the height is so the hen doesn't have to be rubbing her comb on the top of the nest box....you can go larger with the floor space if you want....I don't think there is a exact size....it's what fits your birds...I use pine shavings mixed with a bit of white cedar coarse sawmill sawdust and dried crushed mint, Tansy leaves, basil, oregano, dill, what ever I can come up with.....makes it aromatic and the bugs don't like it. Your picture looks just fine. I raise my nest boxes up off the floor about a foot or so, they are hung on the coop wall...makes it easier to clean the floor and the girls seem to like it.....wooo Sorry for running on!!!!

Dear Weber1991, I took another look at your photo....the size looks fine....but I'd would replace the upper perch with a piece of 2x4 laid flat so the birds can walk on the wide side of it....put another on the bottom for a perch to access the lower boxes....if you don't want them to be pooping all over the top of the boxes you might want to put a piece of plywood as a roof sloped to discourage the birds from hanging out on top of them.
