One of my chooks has been laying eggs on the floor and I can only assume it is because the box they normally use is in use at the time. It has only happened 3 times so far and a quite distant apart. Each time I find the eggs on the floor they have been all cracked (I kicked one today ._.).

What do I do? I have 5 chooks that can lay eggs and only 3 or 4 are laying at the moment. I have only 2 boxes but I have never seen them both in use at the same time so I assume this hen is just laying on the floor because "her box" isn't available.

It happens occ. No big deal. Sometimes mine will hide in a corner that is dark and start another nest. I just use a rake and get it out. Throw the badly cracked eggs away they will be contaminated the one with only a hair line crack and not through the memebrane gets eat the next day. good luck chickens are always a mystery.
