Laying eggs on the ground

Mine 1 year and 2 months Easter ever simply refuses to lay egg in nest ,she will ONLY lay egg in poop area.It is crockpot time

I have 12 hens and 5 nesting boxes. For some reason only 1 of the 5 is the nesting box everybody wants to be in at once. At times there is a 2nd nesting box that gets to be popular but it's usually only the 1 that my hens will literally line up for and wait on until it's free. Occasionally a quick fight breaks out when one hen tries to push out one that's sitting. It's ridiculous!

But I do find eggs on the ground every now and then and I have always attributed it to a hen waiting and waiting for the popular nest but she can't hold it in anymore and plop goes the egg! Maybe the same thing is going on with your flock?

I have 60 nesting boxes and almost all hens lay in morning before noon, she particularly lays in late afternoon when all 60 boxes are empty.I wish it was on ground ,she won’t do on ground she will do only in poop. And she doesn’t lay eggs like she is supposed to like all other 66 hens when lays every 5 days(Easter Egger).
I even tried putting her myself in nesting box when she is due but she doesn’t do nothing and then she goes to poop area.Ugh
