Hi ya’ll,
For the last few mornings I have been finding broken eggs under the roost in my coop. Looks like they are laying overnight or something. Has anyone else seen this? What to do?

Also anybody with experience with weird hen behavior, maybe before hens lay their first egg, check out my thread What's Up Today Panda?

I have had a few eggs laid overnight under roosts but mine were first eggs from pullets. They all go in nest boxes now. Can you put some fake eggs in nest boxes so they get the idea where to lay? - if not first time laying then -Have you got fresh clean bedding in boxes? Access to boxes first thing in morning when they are up?

Are they new layers?
Have they been laying in the nests regularly?

Thanks, they are new layers. So hopefully it will work itself out. My birds are all from this year and they use the nesting boxes regularly.
