Laying eggs

Chickens usually start laying around 5-6 months. It’s recommended to switch them to layer feed at about 18 weeks. You’ll also want to make sure they have nesting boxes available. Make sure you have them ready before they start laying so they know where they are and have them whenever they decide they’re ready. You can help them out knowing where to lay by putting fake eggs in the nests. Give them oyster shell or crushed egg shell around the age they start laying as well so they have the needed calcium to make shells.
