laying eggs

how soon will chickins lay eggs. mine I think are 12 to 14 weeks old. is there any change in behavior when they get ready to lay.

You have a long wait. 24 to 30 weeks of age. Their faces will turn red and they will show interest in the nesting boxes.

Yep! At about 6 months of age has been my experience (some a few weeks earlier...some a few weeks later...but all AROUND 6 mo)
