How old will a hen be when it starts laying ?
How old before a hen can lay a firtle egg ?
& how old does a rooster have to be before he can fertilize ?

Different breeds mature at different ages but you could expect an egg anytime from about 18 weeks on. The roo is mature enough when he starts mounting the hens.

But if you do want to hatch, let the eggs get to be more "full sized" and let the roo have a few months of practice since there will be lots of missing at first.
