Laying Hen Diagnosis?

Past 5 months, she has been acting "broody". Fluffed up, always in the nesting box, but not sat on eggs. She is scrawny, comb is limp and pale. She behaves strangely when I take her out of the nesting box, walks around picking up pine needles and throwing them over her shoulder. I have some ideas, but wanted to run it by you all.

Any suggestions?

She sound broody to me, best to try to break her of it before she wears herself down too much. Putting her in a wire bottom cage off the ground for 3-5 days usually does the trick.

I have done that a few times over the course of the 5 months. Once she was in an isolation tractor with other chickens while she was wormed. A few days after going back to the coop, she was acting them same way.
