Hi everyone. I've only been raising chickens for about 5 months now. I have 3 laying pullets, 2 hens (one is a silkie) that are raising chicks: three 3 are 14 weeks olds and two are 9 weeks old. I've been feeding the chicks Purina medicated chick starter/grower and the moms are eating it too. But this morning the Silkie laid an egg. Now my concern is: Is it ok to eat her egg? What about the other laying hens? I try to feed them separate and for the most part the chicks are eating the starter/grower. But I know the laying hens pick at their food and vice versa. Should I stop eating the eggs? Is it bad for the chicks to eat the laying crumbles?

Thank you so much!! It was really informative!
