Laying in garden!

My chickens have been getting out of their section recently, I have clipped their wings but it hasn't helped. I have 5 hens and two of them have been getting out a lot. Yesterday I discovered 78 eggs in the garden in many separate nests. I had suspected something was up as my two chickens looked very healthy but they weren't laying in the box. They are very stubborn and keep getting out! Can anyone help!?

Do you have a run? I think you need to lock them in the coop for a couple of days.

Yes I put in the eggs in water to see how many would float (means they're rotten) and about half of them are rotten.
I do have a chicken run that is about 3x8 metres and a coop within that. I think I'll try locking the in the coop for a while...

That's too bad! That's a lot of lost eggs.
