I have 11 hens. I get average 10 eggs a day. I am thinking I would like to find out who is laying and who is not.
Thinking that if one is not laying she needs to be in the pot.
Problem is how do I determine if one is not ,and which one it is?

must people average 2/3 of there hen count in eggs per day. I usual only get 9/13 so 10 from eleven on average is great. but is you really want to find out you can put different colored food dies in each vent and see who it is. but what i think is happening is a different hens day off each time not everyone lays in a day.

do you have a rooster ? i have heard roomers of the dominate hens not laying and sometimes mounting other hens , what breed ,some breeds of hens will not lay every day and may only lay every other day

It's perfectly possible that they are all laying, and two of them are laying every other day or so. That would make 10 eggs a day with 11 hens. For example, one of my chickens is supposed to average 6 eggs a week(almost 1 a day) and the other only 2 a week. If I wake up one day and find only 1 egg, it doesn't mean that only 1 is laying. See what I mean?
