Did you ever find out? I am wondering if it is a soft rubbery shell that is not fully formed coming out...

Let us know what happened.

I recall a recent post on the reasons someone might not want to keep ducks (do I recall that correctly?) about when the females are ready to breed, there is a discharge from their vent. Where is that thread . . . . .?

You may want to repost or rename your topic (don't know how to rename) asking if this substance is the "in season" indicator or not.

That's what I can offer.

Keep takin' good care of your ducks!

Thanks I look now..... Also there isnt that much anymore and they seem to be laying fine now so maybe it was a seasonal laying thing

Yes, it could just be a "startup" process. I began a thread about ducks going into "heat," perhaps and eggspert can fill us in.

(Couldn't resist that - sorry)
