laying with hatchlings?

I have a question? If a hen has 3 week old hatchlings, does she still lay eggs?

Usually a hen doesn't start laying again until after she has decided the chicks can take care of themselves...

When can hatchlings be on their own?

Approx 6 to 8 weeks, once they all feather out properly... then they don't need mama or a heat lamp to keep warm... but each mama hen decides for herself when she is done 'mothering' them... some will only keep them with her for a short time, and some will keep them with her as long as they want her to...
