They could very well be too young to lay. It is also nearing winter and that may be a problem as the day light is getting shorter. I would post an update either when they first lay or in a months time.Came by the house today to check on the girls, two where very active trying to get out of the aviary, one was squatting, not getting up. Thought I might have timed it perfect and would find an egg when she got up, I was wrong.
They have been locked up almost three days now and no eggs, maybe they are still too young.
Newly laying pullets can lay any time of day...or night.Are there hens who lay late in the day ?
