Hi guys, I don't if your hens do this when laying. But when my hen lays, it puts other eggs under her. Why?

I'm sort of new to this as well, I do believe that hens do that naturally because they believe the eggs will hatch and eventually they'll have chicks. I believe it is completely normal but other people might have more information. Its always nice to learn something new! My hens will be laying within the next couple weeks so it'll be interesting to watch and see what happens.

When the hens are laying eggs, they are really making a clutch of eggs to hatch. An example would be that all your hens probably try to cram into the same box to lay eggs, to try and build a clutch that one of them would get the urge to hatch if this clutch ever got large enough.
