layying too many eggs

i dont know if it means anything but shed started laying again as soon as her eggs hatched

Are you sure eggs were not hidden under the bedding in the nest?

yes im sure. she made another nest in a different place but near the first then when i took the eggs she made a new nest and within a couple days there was another nearly 20 eggs in the new nest. dads gone so all eggs were unfertilozed

unfortunatly im a bit late in posting here. id been scouring the internet for info. her babies have since been relocated to some farm action to live out their days happy and well cared for. i have 1 duckling remaining that has become my eager lil shadow. i have a thread entitled my new best friend that has pics of her

She sounds like a genetic fluke (I've only heard of this one other time) where she was laying 5 eggs a day.

As mentioned above, egg laying takes a lot out of them as far as nutrients. It's very likely that her body couldn't handle the number of eggs it was generating on a daily basis. So the nutrients her body needed in order to survive went into eggs instead.
It also could've been an internal issue such as being egg bound, or some sort of egg production issue where she got blocked from eggs trying to pass to quickly.

poor mama that must have been very hard on her body. sounds like theres no way to stop it if its something genetic
