Hello Everyone!
Though I have been petting chicks since my childhood but this year I have purchased 3 set of chicks first time 3 coloured boilers ,one die next morning but the rest 2 lived upto 3 months then I brought 2 more naturally hatched chicks and within a week the new one (the naturally hatched) develop a swollen eye, became lazy and used to stand in the corner. The day we noticed a swollen eye, the other day it died. My 3 months old (boiler) also developed this eye swollen eye and died! The other 3 months old( boiler) died in its sorrow as they have been brought up together. The last one lasted one month and our neighbour's cat devoured it! I really felt sad so yesterday I bought around 10 chicks 6 are boilers and 4 are naturally hatched few weeks old chicks. Yesterday all were jumping, running around! But in morning I have found my one naturally hatched standing lazily then sitting one side with one swollen eye. I gave garlic to eat and water to drink by my hands though yesterday it was having everything on its own!
I read this backyarchicken's remedy- washed its eye and put dexcin( one my brother has been given recently to cure conjuctivitis). Have I done right?
Though its swolling seems less now but still it seem lazy and not opening its eyes!
This swollen eye thing I have noticed this year of my life only! And I don't want to lose this one! Pictures are attached!
Help me asap!
