Have six 2 year old hens, 4 black sex links, 2 RI reds. went thru moult this past winter and are free range but penned up at night.
getting a daily average of maybe 2 eggs. 1 today, 3 yesterday, 0 the day before, etc, are healthy and appear happy.
Question is why am I not getting more eggs? They have fresh water, Purina crumbles, oyster shells, and scratch grains.

Free range chickens I do that and you are getting more egg's then
what you are finding and once you start finding the nest you will
find several dozen in each nest maybe even more just a couple
of weeks ago I coned my grand kids into crawling under some
sheds in the yard and in one nest 29 egg's another 19 egg's and
another 14 egg's and it did not stop and the chickens have been
eatting hard boiled egg's for several weeks but at last count we
have collected just over 150 egg's from all over the yard the last
several weeks so yes you have the egg's some where just need
to find them and try to teach them where to put the egg's so you
can collect them .......

The only nest left alone as mamma was guarding it .... and there
were three other nest with in two feet of this one so the poultry
did like this area .....

Welcome to BYC!

A few things could be going on. If they are out free ranging all day, some of them may be laying out in the fields somewhere in a secret nest. Also, if they are not getting enough layer feed since they are free ranging, they may not be laying as much due to the lack of protein. Good luck figuring out where your eggs are and welcome to our flock!
